One item that escapes people when it comes to filing a claim with their cheap car insurance provider is that their premiums will go up if they are involved in an accident. This assessment is only partially accurate. If “involved” in an accident means that the claimant caused the accident then it is very possible that the cheap car insurance will not be cheap for much longer! However, if the accident was not the fault of the insured then there really is no reason to raise the cheap car insurance premiums. After all, if you are driving safely and properly and another car ignores the speed limit and a stop sign and crashes into your car then you surely can’t be held responsible for the accident. It was clearly the gross negligence on the part of the other driver that created the accident. As such, the negligent driver will be the one who bears the brunt of the criminal and civil penalties such aberrant recklessness. So, there really should be no worries about filing a claim with your insurance provider. A solid, reliable car insurance provider will not impose penalties on an individual who is clearly the victim. After all, it was not the injured party’s fault to begin with. As such, the injured party will not incur the wrath of and insurance provider.
