After some days of pondering finally you made your mind on your desired cash back credit cards. One fine day, however, you lose it. To top it, you don’t remember whether somebody has picked it from your wallet or you have misplaced the card in your last meeting.
So, what should you do in case you have lost your card, or your card is stolen? To an extent you have to count on your luck. But, do not worry you can indulge in some damage control mechanisms to minimize your financial woes.
Whenever you come to know that your credit card is lost immediately contact the 24 – hour’s bank helpline. It prevents the misuse and exploit of one of your cash back credit cards. Let the bank know about the situation in hand.
The tele-marketing support staff would then ask you about your personal details to verify that you are the original owner of the card. After you give those required information you have to confirm that indeed your card has been stolen. After the confirmation and official report you are then entitled to ‘zero liability’ (i.e. you need not pay the cash penalty for the misuse of your card). If your credit history is good, then you are waived the $50 maximum liability charge levied by the bank.
At the end of all the ordeals, you need to sit down and think straight. If you lose your cool you would suffer more, so search the web, look for credit card comparison sites, and invest in your next credit card properly.
